The Touch Contest
Touch
n. that sense by which anything material is perceived by means of physical contact. For this deviously ONEderful contest, I've decided to choose only one of the five senses to motivate your creative genius. Not sight, hearing, taste, or smell, but touch. It is the basis of society, the tool of technology, and the reason we went out with that girl last Friday. The sense of touch influences our daily lives in a way no other sense can. Deviants must create an image that somehow depicts the sense of touch.
- All works of art should be completely original (Started and finished after discovering this contest.)
- All entries must be created using a visual medium. Fine Art mediums will generally be accepted; Photographs, Paintings/Drawings, Digital Paintings/Drawings, and Sculptures are all great. Please stay away from emoticons and other similar art forms.
- No literature.
- Mature content within entries is acceptable.
KEEP ALL ENTRIES CLEAN! - CLARIFICATION: Only ONE entry per deviant!
Deadline
The submission deadline (the very latest entries will be accepted) is set for:Midnight Saturday, December 15, 2007 PST
The winners will be announced within a week after the contest has closed. The winners will be decided by a group of judges, hand picked by myself. The entries will be judged based on three major criteria:
Quality:
n. native excellence or superiorityThe quality of the final image is a major factor in deciding who wins. I expect good quality.
Impact:
n. the capacity or power of persons or things to be a compelling force on or produce effects on the actions, behavior, opinions, etc., of othersThe definition is pretty descriptive on how your entry should effect other deviants.
Relevance:
n. the relation of something to the matter at handIf an entry depicts nothing about the sense of touch, you can count on it not winning anything.
